Fitness Model Interview:

Windy Haddad

The Interview:

1. What’s your background? How did you get started in the fitness modeling/fitness competition field?

Like most competitors I saw a fitness competition on TV and said, "I can do that!" I do not have a gymnastics or dance background.

2. What do you feel is your biggest fitness-related accomplishment?

Winning the Ms. Fitness 2000 title.

3. Is fitness modeling/competition your full-time job? If not, what else do you do?

I am working on an MBA in marketing at University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. (My BA is in Economics from Colorado College.)

4. What are your immediate and long-term goals?

My short term goals include finishing my MBA and competing in a national NPC show. (I have done two national Ms. Fitness shows but have only been with the NPC for 1 season.) My long term goal is to earn my IFBB pro card in fitness and continue to inspire others to lead a healthy lifestyle.

5. Please describe a typical day for you. What is your daily routine like?

I don't really have a typical day. It varies greatly depending on school, modeling projects, and how close I am to a competition.

6. Please describe your normal diet. How do you eat to stay in shape?

I follow a high protein, low fat, moderate carbohydrate diet.

7. What is your training routine like?

I generally do Chest, Triceps & Abs on Monday, Back & Biceps on Tuesday, Shoulders & Abs on Thursday, and Legs on Friday. My cardio routine varies based on how close I am to a competition.

8. What supplements do you use (if any)?

I use the Sports Nutrition 2000 line including Performance Protein, Thermal Burn, and Joint Support.

9. How do you motivate yourself to get/stay in shape?

I read every motivational book I can get my hands on and I subscribe to most of the industry magazines. I put pictures of my favorite fitness role models on my workout journal to keep me motivated.

10. What are a few of your favorite fitness and health-related web sites?

Mine of course! http://www.windyhaddad.com

11. What tips would you give to someone who wanted to get into the fitness modeling (or fitness competition) industry?

Be persistent. It is tough to get started.

12. If someone you knew asked you how to lose weight and get into shape quickly, what would you tell them?

I get asked this all the time. There is no quick fix. To truly get in shape you have to make a long term commitment to exercising and eating right.

13. Is there anything else you’d like to say?

I am available for promotional and modeling work. My resume and portfolio are online at http://www.windyhaddad.com
